This position within the Risk Management AML Compliance team is responsible for managing, from a business user aspect, the technology elements that support the AML Compliance program. This role encompasses oversight and management of 3 to 5 staff, system oversight and administration of Actimize, for transaction monitoring and SAR reporting and Acuity, for OFAC matching and match clearing. This individual will also be required to develop and deploy ad hoc queries against enterprise data warehouses and the collection of system data for internal metric reporting purposes. This individual will also lead/participate in data quality efforts and the expansion of transaction monitoring coverage to new product types.

Qualifications

Individuals in this role are responsible for:
• Development and oversight of a comprehensive AML transaction monitoring system including unusual activity detection, investigation workflows up to and including SAR filing, due diligence, and sanctions and list screening.
• Identification of data elements across the enterprise required or beneficial in AML monitoring
• Interacting with regulators and presenting program architecture in a way that is clear, complete and concise
• Managing vendor relationships
• Leveraging internally identified suspicious activity patterns, industry risks, and trends and incorporating this information into the overall coverage of the AML monitoring program.
• Cultivating effective relationships with management and other key stakeholders in other business units in and out of Risk and Compliance.
• Providing meaningful, robust metrics and reporting identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to Management and other key stakeholders.
• Continuously assessing the program, identifying and implementing opportunities for increased effectiveness, efficiency, and risk mitigation. In addition, coordinating with other Discover Financial Services (DFS) Lines of Business to ensure consistency across the entire enterprise.
• Collaborating with technology partners to ensure the systems supporting the program are operating effectively.
• Participating in, managing, or chairing key project initiatives or committees.
• Providing constructive feedback, coaching, training, etc. to Analysts on a routine basis in order to effectively manage and mentor team members.
• Attending continuing education courses
