Summary:

Thisposition is charged with improving products and processes across the fullspectrum of Quality Assurance and Production activities. Quality ManagementSystem support, supplier qualification andmonitoring, and proactive process/product improvement and corrective actionactivities are core responsibilities of this position.
JOB PURPOSE
Plans and conducts activities surrounding the quality assurance of industrialprocesses, materials, and products. Develops quality metrics to monitorquality levels, identify areas for improvement and implement effective,permanent and systemic solutions. Manages quality and systems improvementefforts in manufacturing and related environments to ensure consistentperformance in alignment with organizational goals.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
-Plans and conducts analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration toassure the quality of assigned product or component.
-Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliancewith stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company qualityrecords.
-Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data toevaluate the current process and process changes.
-Reviews all purchased products or components and helps decide whether toaccept the product and procure future purchases from thevendor.
-Performs and maintains capability studies on new and existing equipment. Considers process limitations as compared to new productrequirements.
-Conducts process and system audits to measure and verify performance. Champions improvement efforts in weak or failing areas.
-Assumes responsibility for customer CPR / RMA follow-up, root cause andcorrective action and establishes improvement programs to drive improvement inexternal quality.
-Improves existing quality inspection / auditing processes focusing on operatorresponsibility.
-Implements and applies statistical quality methods such as Statistical ProcessControls (SPC), Statistical Quality Controls (SQC), Design of Experiments(DOE), Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) methodology, Gauge Repeatability andReliability (GR&R), and Hypothesis testing to drive continuousimprovement.
-Develops and conducts training designed to incorporate SPC, SQC, ProblemSolving and other process improvement programs into the daily workregimen.
-Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assuranceactivities. Prepares and presents technical and program information toteam members and management.
-Works with Manufacturing Engineers to improve equipment and processperformance.
-Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistentwith company policies and procedures.
-Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assuranceactivities.
-Communicates significant issues or developments identified during qualityassurance activities and provides recommended process improvements tomanagement.

Education and Experience:

BSdegree in Engineering.

5– 10 years QA/QC experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment

Thoroughknowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.

Knowledgeof ASME codes (I, II, V, VIII, and IX), PED (European Pressure EquipmentDirective) and NDT a plus.

SixSigma Certification a plus.

Experienceusing statistics and various quality improvement tools such as Process Mapping,FMEA, DOE, SPC, Gage R&R, and Root Cause Analysis
