The Healthcare Call Center Associate is responsible for handling all incoming Billing and Eligibility phone calls and for serving as the primary customer interface for departmental inquiries.  As a patient advocate, a call center associate will serve as a trusted and valuable advisor to our clients and their patients.  You will use your active listening skills to serve patients, people just like you, by answering questions, resolving issues, and building a strong rapport. 

Primary Responsibilities:




  • Schedules/reschedules/cancels appointments; registers new patients; verifies patient demographics and health insurance and updates information in the appropriate system.

  • Responds to callers' general information requests and/or inquiries; refers callers to most qualified area, if applicable.

  • Processes WESTMED online tasks in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. 

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of (or required proficiency level for) the number of medical department specialties required for the position.

  • Properly transmits descriptive written communication in a clear and concise manner to staff/physicians via the appropriate system.

  • Achieves or exceeds the required level of accuracy. 

  • Applies the most current booking guidelines and/or policies/procedures to appointment scheduling and daily tasks.

  • Fully proficient in the required technology systems used to process daily tasks.

Requirements




Requirements:





  • High School diploma or GED required

  • 2+ years of experience working in a customer service role within a call center environment

  • Beginner level of proficiency with navigating several computer programs at once

  • Ability to work any 8 hour shift Monday-Sunday 8am-9pm

 


Assets:



  • Previous healthcare/insurance background preferred

  • Medical Office Administration Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Knowledge of EMR and Centricity a plus

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Work Environment:




  • Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer 

  • Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activity
