About this job

SUMMARY:

Effectively manages a production line to ensure production of a quality product and timely delivery of customer products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Meets company objectives by performing within 10% of the standard rate, while maintaining quality expectations.

* Maintain a high degree of personal initiative, interact positively with all staff and management and exhibit independent problem solving and decision making skills.

* Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as inspectors, machine operators, assemblers and packers.

* Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.

* Demonstrate equipment operations or work procedures to new employees or assigns employees to experienced workers for training.

* Confers with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within departments or between departments.

* Confers with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.

* Calculates labor and equipment requirements and production specifications, using standard formulas.

* Recommends or implements measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.

* Reads and analyzes charts, work orders, or production schedules to determine production requirements.

* Maintains operations data, such as time, production, and cost records and prepares
management reports.

* Interprets specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.

* Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect defects.

* Interact with all managers in identifying and reporting problems, finds solutions and assisting with corrective action.

* Demonstrate interpersonal skills by effectively communicating, building rapport and resolving conflict constructively with team members.

* Maintain the stability and reputation of Quality Associates by complying with legal requirements and safety and security measures

* Quality checks each hour with required documentation completed

* Start-up checklist complete with qualified packer present

* White boards completed each hour

* End of shift reconciliation, production sheet, and downtime sheets completed

* Issuing/De-issuing of product and material as needed

* Clean line and equipment at the end of each shift

Education

High School Degree
Minimum of three (3) years experience in supervisory capacity
