Medline Industries, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Senior Operations Engineer located in the Middletown,NY facility. Working under the direction of the Vice President Operations (Engineering), and Operations – Sr. Director Operational Excellence will provide support and guidance for Operations Engineer I and Operations Engineer II positions. The Sr. Operations Engineer develops projects and manages multiple medium scale projects of varying complexities; resulting in substantial improved efficiencies and delivering increased profitability to Medline. This position typically has responsibility of between 1M-2.5M spend annually in building- related or material handling related improvement projects and contributes roughly $400K-1M in savings annually within operations expenses. We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working professional with a solid education and background in operations engineering and a desire to work for a fast-paced, large corporate organization. In addition to exceptional leadership and analytical skills, you must have a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude.

Challenging responsibilities include:
  • Management: Provides support and guidance indirectly to Operations Engineer I and Operations Engineer II positions.
  • Analytics: Reviews, develops, and partners with technological solution providers to analyze, review, and potentially implement enhanced solutions therein to reduce Medline’s expenses and improve cost structure.
  • Software application expertise: Warehouse Management System(s), Labor Management System, Transportation Management System, Microsoft Access proficiency, etc. This expertise allows seamless data extraction and analysis.
  • Performs and deploys work measurement techniques; inclusive of time and motion studies
  • Provides daily system support to branches - inclusive of WMS (Catalyst) and LMS (Protrack).
  • Quickly adapts to new technologies and applications for implementation within operations.

The required skills for this position are:
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or General Engineering.
  • Typically, three to seven year’s engineering experience. Distribution or warehousing experience is highly preferred.
  • LMS/WMS experience preferred.
  • Capable to guide / mentor other engineering professionals.
  • Effective communication skills with various levels of employees, ranging from hourly work teams to mid-level managers to executives.
  • Travel: 25-33%
