POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Director, Digital Content Management will lead the Content management, translations and operations for Marriott.com and mobile in support of the overall digital content strategy, governance and operations for Marriott International. This role is responsible for leading our Enterprise Content Management (CMS) standards, governance, and language translation process for all Marriott International business units planning, directing and overseeing a holistic content strategy, roadmap and dependencies for Marriott in conjunction with Digital Business Units, Marketing, and Brands delivery of key initiatives and standards that span business units, and leading a Digital Content Management Organization.



EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
  • Delivery of World-Class Global Products and Services
    Lead our Enterprise Content Management (CMS) standards, governance, and language translation process for all of Marriott International
    Work with iT to deliver a new CMS platform for all Marriott global content to be stored and managed on one platform and utilized across multiple channels (ex: web, email, voice, print, social)
    Develop and manage Marriott's digital new strategies, process, administration and training to enable decentralized content entry and distributed authorship on one platform that can be aggregated across multiple channels, platforms and media
    Deliver a solution for self-service campaigns
    Develop strategies and implementation for external distribution of content across CS&D (voice, web, mobile, distribution)
    Work with our 4000 hotels on implementing our Marriott Digital Assets for photography, floor plans, video, etc
    Provide management leadership to a team of content manager's in locations around the world
    Enable reuse of content to create a holistic experience for our customers in an Omni-channel environment
    Partner with IT leaders, Business Units, General Managers, Product Owners, User Experience, Digital Research, and Platforms teams to deliver quality content and reuse against our priorities.
    Provide leadership and structure in initiatives and areas that span across multiple business units (e.g new brand integrations, Mobile, Globalization).
    Oversee resource assignment on correct priorities and teams based on work and skill
    Ensure focus on KPIs and measuring content, digital assets and translation quality and effectiveness.
    Develop and manage communications out to other groups as well as partner with different departments throughout Marriott to continue to leverage new ideas and influence innovative solutions and products.
    Oversee content and translation base budgets, and oversee that team is successfully implementing budgets and timelines.
    Oversee content standards and guidelines that span across Marriott.com and mobile. This includes universal elements and features that are applicable to multiple business units.
    Manage external vendors, when needed, and develop/approve engagements and statements of work within framework of Marriott's master consulting agreements and budget.
    Act as end-user advocate and ensure balanced decisions are made that consider development and support costs, risk, end-user experience, ongoing maintainability and reliability, and stakeholder needs.
    Promote coaching, individual development and high performance standards, and is responsible for career management and demonstrable growth of the people on his/her teams.
    Contribute to the development of the Content Management discipline and community through training/mentoring others, knowledge sharing and leveraging of best practices.

  • Support the portfolio of work

    CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED
    REQUIRED:
    Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:
    10+ years of content management including language translation experience
    10+ years online/mobile experience, preferably with high volume transactional websites.
    Robust content management knowledge and skills or relevant experience
    Knowledge and practice of core principals of software development lifecycles - preference for knowledge and experience with Agile practices.
    Knowledge of internet and mobile technologies and ability to leverage technical capabilities to meet business needs
    Experience managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
    Excellent program management skills to lead teams in distributed environments involved in delivering complex business systems.
    Relationship-building skills as well as strong leadership and team management skills, with deep understanding of business impact on delivery.
    Strong planning skills including ability to develop presentations, roadmaps and spreadsheets.
    Strong interpersonal and meeting facilitation skills required to lead and manage all team members, internal and external clients, vendors and meetings.
    Strong leadership and mentoring skills that inspire team confidence while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner
    Ability to effectively communicate business needs
    Experience with responsive design a plus

    BS/BA degree required in an appropriate field, with a graduate level and project or product management certification preferred
