Description
- Arizona MENTOR is seeking Direct Support Professionals/Caregivers to provide assistance to individuals in a community-based setting. DSPs provide assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation and planning; medication administration; and personal care. DSPs may also facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community or providing transportation to work or other activities. In addition, DSPs support therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support.
Qualifications
Initial Training Requirement: Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm – Paid Training:
Approximately 2 weeks of mandatory paid training sessions are held in our Payson office, and a few sessions in our Phoenix office, prior to providing care to individuals.
Sessions are held Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
- Six months of experience in human services preferred
- Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks
