CoWorx Staffing Services is now accepting applications for a Manual Machinist to assist with the production of oil tools in a warehouse environment.
Our Client is widely known for offering an alternative solution for all pipe recovery situations world wide, by providing the safest and most effective means of severing pipe in the industry today. They’re seeking candidates with a minimum of 10 years or more experience working as a high level machinist for a manufacturer.

Job duties will include:

  • Plans machining by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, surface locations, machining parameters; interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances. Have understanding of speeds and feeds for HSS and inserted carbide tooling to produce acceptable surface finishes on common alloy steels and aluminum.
  • Under very minimal to no supervision be able to Setup Manual Mills and Lathes, Grind any drill bits or tool steel needed to complete the job.
  • Under very minimal to no supervision, sets up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings and stops. Possess advanced skills on conventional lathes and mills at such a level as to be able to produce work at a production level rate. Manufacture or grind custom tooling as needed.
  • Maintains specifications by observing operations; detecting malfunctions; inspecting parts to close tolerances; adjusting controls; replacing dies.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements following manufacturer’s instructions and troubleshooting malfunctions when they occur; conducts minor repairs.
  • Must own inspection tools of professional quality necessary to inspect diameters from 0-6" to .0001". Must provide own hand tools necessary to make adjustments or perform maintenance.





Qualified candidates will be responsible for the efficient production of machined parts by setting up, and operating, conventional machine shop equipment and have tool grinding and sharpening skills.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years or more experience working as a high level machinist for a manufacturer.
  • Advanced skills and knowledge using tools for manufacturing such as drill press, lathe, mill or grinder.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of fitment as it relates to parts manufacturing and assembly.
  • Advanced skills in evaluating quality through inspection, controls, and instruments (calipers and micrometers).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
