Primary Responsibilities:

• Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities by assisting in the development, execution, management and maintenance of Central Region markets, CMS Star ratings improvement strategy and performance


• Research and report provider specific Star Indexing


• Research and report market and provider specific performance drivers


• Document/Communicate root causes affecting performance


• Develop and determine effective strategies for local market initiatives


• Coordinate and support local market Star strategy including both national and local initiatives


• Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities by assisting in the development, execution, management and maintenance of Central Region markets, network strategy and performance


• Provide analytical support of provider performance under value based contracts


• Develop provider specific performance reports cards


• Document/communicate and drive network strategy initiatives


• Determine and track financials implications of network initiatives, ROIs, remediation dollars, etc.


• Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities by assisting in the development, execution, management and maintenance of Central Region markets, medical cost and utilization management


• Provide support to drive identified opportunities to manage trends and root causes to ensure utilization effectiveness


• Provide support to drive identified provider specific medial cost trend analysis


• Coordinate multiple work streams including clinical, network, health care economics to drive effective solutions to potential areas for medical cost improvements


• Document/communicate key milestones for effective strategy execution


• Determine and track performance of the financial implications of specific initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree


• 4+ years experience working within a managed care organization, health insurer, or as a consultant; strongly prefer network development/contract management analysis and working knowledge of CMS Star Ratings and HEDIS Measures


• Strong understanding of the interdependencies across health care field operations (network, clinical sales, service, systems)


• Knowledge of managed care and network terminology


• Proficiency in network analysis


• Intermediate level of proficiency with reimbursement methodologies such as RBRVS, ASC groupers, APCs, per diems, case rates, DRGs, fee schedules, and AWP


• Excellent analytic and problem solving expertise


• Strong written and verbal communication skills including well-developed interpersonal skills used to influence the behavior of others, some of whom will be at executive levels


• Ability to multi-task, shifting back and forth effectively among multiple activities


• Self-motivated, goal-driven


• Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
