General Description/Primary Purpose The Human Resource Manager FAO is responsible for staffing the store at all hourly levels, executing development and driving engagement of a knowledgeable store workforce that drives results through leadership and execution with guest as a priority. The Human Resource will partner with his/her Store Manager, providing HR support over the store, serving as an advisor in the areas of Staffing, Development, Retention and Brand, and providing direction to all levels (including Management) in these areas. The other key responsibility for the Human Resource Manager is in the coaching and development of the store team. Through a focus on enhancing their talents, and supporting their success, the Human Resource Manager will emphasize a team-oriented culture dedicated to quality, continuous improvement, and high performance. * Responsibilities: * * /Staffing/- The Human Resource Manager will ensure that staffing levels are met with a focus on increased team member success, retention, and commitment through better staffing and on-boarding. Key staffing areas of responsibility include: o Provide direction to SM and Management team on staffing needs and apply needed accountability to team via communication to SM and RHRM on results. o Establishing and Utilizing a Store based Succession Planning to prepare for and hire in front of need, o Using College Recruiting as a key pipeline for talent into the store at both hourly and management levels, o Ensuring that all hiring includes the use of Realistic Job Previews and Competency based behavioral interviewing processes o Monitoring the use of and effectiveness of the On-boarding process * /Development//-/The Human Resource Manager will play an integral role in development of the Store Management Team and Key Team Members within the store. Key areas of responsibility include: o Provide weekly feedback and direction to the Store Manager (feedback to RHRM) in the areas of talent development and consistent application of policies and procedures. o Seek support and guidance from the RHRM for the support that is needed within the store location. o Build a pipeline of future store management leaders in support of the RHRM. o Supports the companies operational initiatives through a training and development curriculum which provides the tools needed to ensure success o Ensuring that, through a learning culture, the company's commitment to talent and development will translate to delighted guests and a competitive selling environment within the store location. * /Retention//-/The Human Resource Manager will create a culture where Team Member engagement is high and "R Us" is viewed as an employer of choice. Key areas of responsibility include: o Drive Team Member Engagement Survey administration and focus groups to monitor pulse in the store; ensuring follow up on commitments and action planning process o Ensuring commitment to consistency and follow-up in performance coaching and the corrective action process throughout the region o Championing the company's position as employer of choice and commitment to maintaining its union free status and environment o Maintaining a regular schedule within the store, the HRASMM will ensure that they are visible and approachable advocates for the company and Team Member. * /Brand/- The Human Resource Manager will create a "Great Place to Work" culture that is driven by the companies Vision and Values.
