SportsNet New York, the TV Home of the Mets, Jets, the UConn Huskies and All Things New York Sports currently seeks an Account Executive. Below please find a description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

The Advertising Account Executive will be responsible for developing, servicing and maintaining a base of local clients and/or agencies purchasing advertising space or other media services to achieve established annual sales goals within assigned sales team.

POSITION: Account Executive - Media
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Sales
LOCATION: New York, NY

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maximize network and team media/sponsorship revenue by performing the following:
- Cultivate relationships with agency media buyers and direct partners to grow existing sponsorships
- Monitor competing teams, networks, facilities for advertising prospects
- Extensive cold calling and demonstration of consistent ability to close new business
- Develop sales presentations, write effective business correspondence, develop proposals, and execute contracts
- Create unique promotional concepts to create new and incremental revenue
- Work closely with Sales Assistant to input orders, schedule commercials, check orders, and ensure copy and rates are correct.

- Update status of all pending business on weekly basis and present to management
- Maintain required paperwork for all active, non-active, and prospective clients
- Work with Finance department to collect any outstanding debt or cash in advance payments
- Significant client entertaining, often on nights and weekends

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong analytical and math skills
- Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Additional media software and/or CRM experience helpful.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and clients

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor ' s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
- 5-7 years of experience selling local/regional/network media and/or sponsorship
