Senior HVAC Technician (Part time)  

Position summary  

Tends heating, ventilation & cooling equipment such as fans, vacuum pumps, air compressors, vents and ducts, and lubrication oil coolers used in buildings or industrial processes by performing the following duties.

Essential duties

·         Will perform repairs and preventative maintenance and will need good overall knowledge of building mechanical systems of heating, ventilation and air conditioning,  and electrical, pneumatic or direct digital controls.

·         Will perform mechanical service repairs on HVAC equipment in addition to monitoring equipment performance ensuring optimum efficiency, change air filters, cleans coils, condensate pans, adjusts thermostats; air volume diffusers; pressure or temperature control regulators; and energy management system components as determined.

·         Refrigerant knowledge required to include evacuation, recovery and charging systems with refrigerant to corresponding pressures, replacement of compressors, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, hydronic, steam maintenance, communication systems, Metasys, JCI and Alerton.

·         Position will require some contract with customers and outside vendors.  Must have good customer interface skills.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·         At least 5 years of experience to include CFD: troubleshooting a variety of modules at the component level. 

·         Experience with Heat Pumps and Fan Coils. 

·         Must be able to assist with installations and upgrades of equipment. 

·         Will be responsible for technical documentation, correspondence, and communication. 

·         Must be knowledgeable and understanding of safe work practices. 

·         Must be reliable, dependable and responsive to service call requests.

·         Must possess valid class C California driver's license
