The Customer Service Representative is responsible for answering incoming calls
from customers and/or members while ensuring a high level of customer service
and maximizing productivity.



 

Positions
in this function are responsible for providing expertise and customer
service support to members, customers, and/or providers. Direct
phone-based customer interaction to answer and resolve a wide variety of
inquiries.




Primary
Responsibilities:



  • Respond to complex customer calls 
  • Resolve customer service inquiries which could include: 
  • Benefit and Eligibility information 
  • Billing and Payment issues 
  • Customer material requests 
  • Physician assignments 
  • Authorization for treatment 
  • Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
  • Provide excellent customer service 
  • Constantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality
    standards 
  • Moderate work experience within own function.
  • Some work is completed without established procedures.
  • Basic tasks are completed without review by others.
  • Supervision/guidance is required for higher level tasks.

Requirements

Requirements:



  • High School Diploma/ GED required
     
  • Available to work 40 hours per
    week within the operating hours of the site 10:00 am to 9:00 pm (must be
    available for this shift)
  • Ability
    to work in highly structured
    environment. The only work shifts available at this time are: 10am
    to 6:30am; 11am to 7:30pm, 11:30am to 8pm and 12pm to 8:30pm. Applicant
    must be able to work any of these scheduled shifts. (Work schedules will be based on business need with scheduled
    breaks and lunches)
  • Ability to work overtime as
    needed/required per business needs
  • 1+ year of Customer service
    experience analyzing and solving customer problems, OR 1+ year of
    experience in an office setting environment using the telephone and
    computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
  • Prior
    stable work experience (Must have 12 months/1year of work experience in
    a Call Center and/or Medical Claims environment within last 4
    employers)
  • Familiarity with computer and
    Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and
    complex computer system applications
  • Ability to multi-task, this
    includes ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of
    benefits within each product.
  • Ability to remain focused and
    productive each day though tasks may be repetitive 


Assets:



  • Knowledge of ICD-9
    and/ or CPT coding highly desirable


Physical Requirements and Work Environment:



  • Frequent speaking, listening
    using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse,
    handling other objects, long periods working at a computer
  • Service center environment with
    moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers,
    and floor activity
