Manpower is looking for an experienced Payroll Clerk to support and assist in a high volume fast paced setting The job is located in Worcester, MA Monday - Friday 8-5pm PAYING $15 AN HOUR This assignment is for 5 months EXPERIENCE WITH BI-WEEKLY PAYROLL AND PAYCHEX IS A STRONG REQUIREMENT FOR THIS ROLE Here is an overview of the job description * Receiving all paperwork applicant information from hiring Manager * Conducting New Hire Pre-Employment Background Checks * Scheduling Drug Testing Screening and pre-employment physical for Worcester, MA location only * Communicating the results, to Hiring Manager, determine a start date * Confirming New Hire Paperwork from Managers (in all locations) are received. * Creating New Employee Personnel File Folder for all incoming documentation. Assign Time Clock Swipe Badge's for hourly new hires. Provide assistance with * Maintenance of Timecard entries and adjustments (bi-weekly) in Time & Attendance for all 5 locations, and remind Managers of all employees that need adjustments to their timecards. * Allocation and verification of the availability of all PTO (Paid Time Off) and LWOP (Leave With-out Pay) slips for all 5 locations (MA, NC, CO, CA, UT). * Assist with Entry New Hire information into Paychex Payroll System. * Enter updated information for current employees at all locations regarding any permanent changes and one-time adjustments. * Allocate bi-weekly "Incentive" Bonuses from 3 locations currently using the program and to be entered into Payroll. * Perform the Payroll Entry in Paychex for the bi-weekly Payroll and double-check all adjustments made for the current pay period. * Review Reports for entries into the current Payroll. * Email the CFO with payroll summary information for transferring the estimated amount of funding. * Electronically send information to Paychex for processing. * Sorting of paychecks, delivery to all locations via scheduled FedEx Pick-up. * Run post payroll reports with distribution to appropriate management. * Scan and email Paychex Totals Report showing Payroll Totals and Tax Deposits due to the Accounts Receivable Coordinator. Provide assistance with: * Conducting Benefits Orientation for new or existing employees prior to eligibility or during a company open enrollment. TRAINING RECORD & CQS RESPONSIBILITIES: * Create and maintain all Training Folders for all training sessions for each and temporary employee in the Worcester, MA location with the forms: - Emergency Information Form (signed by Applicant) - Personal Protective Equipment Acknowledge, if needed (signed by Applicant) - New Employee Orientation Checklist (signed by Applicant) - Acknowledgment of Respirator Training, if needed (signed by Applicant) * Assist the Compliance, Quality and Sustainability Department by tracking and updating all completed Skill Training Sessions needed for the job position employee was hired for, as well as maintain a record of all completed Mandatory Training Sessions for all Worcester, MA facility only (all filed in the Training Folder drawer). * Enter and update on a continuous basis all new hires and New Temporary hires for the Worcester, MA location in the Q Drive Training Checklist, by entering the date Trainings have been completed and update all Terminated Employees (including Temporary Employees) from the Training Checklist. * Maintain the Training Folders, updating our Training File Folders on a continuous basis. * Assist the Operations Manager for the Worcester, MA locations by updating and recording the Worcester Contractor Safety Training Log for the CQS Department; as well as maintain records on all approved and signed Contractor Safety Agreements for all new Contractors working at our Worcester, MA location (given to me from the Operations Manager). MISCELLANEOUS RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist in filing Accounts Payable paperwork when needed. * Update and maintain the Employee Emergency Contact folder, for the Worcester location on every Employee and Temporary Employee (located at the Front Reception Desk) for emergency purposes, including drills and/or possible evacuations. * Scan & email all Certificates of Recycling to an Independent Contract Labor person, as well as mail the original Certificates of Recycling to the appropriate location, through interoffice mail . * Assist Worcester, MA Plant Manager with filing all monthly Lading Slips, as well as the Worcester facility Certificates of Recycling. * Update the monthly CQS Data Tracking for Utility Bills for all 5 locations, recording all monthly utility usage. * Assist the Operations Department by maintaining all postings for the Worcester, MA location for that is provided by the CQS Department that is required to be posted for the Warehouse Employees as well as Office Staff. Bulletin Boards are to be updated Monthly and/or weekly for updated events or news regarding areas in Environmental, Human Resources, Health and Safety (including Monthly Safety Committee Meeting Minutes), Quality, and an updated documentation done weekly showing what number of Injury Reports the Worcester, MA location is at . Education and Experience: High school diploma. Prior Payroll, Benefits, Human Resource experience. Computer Skills: Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software, email and Internet.
