SUMMARY:

The Sales Merchandiser position is responsible for the execution of Anderson Merchandisers standards to drive sales and meet retailer client expectations. Daily communication and follow-up with the Territory Sales Lead is expected. We achieve optimal results by implementing the Anderson Approach, which consists of Collaboration, Presell and Awareness, Implementation, Reporting and Post Reporting.

SUPERVISION:

This position is under the supervision of the District Sales Manager and also receives direction from the Territory Sales Lead.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, include but are not limited to the following:

Collaboration:
  • Communicate with store management and maintain excellent rapport with store personnel.
  • Communicate to the Territory Sales Lead on a daily basis as to all activities accomplished as well as any sales opportunities.
  • Respond immediately to all store concerns and alerting Territory Sales Lead and/or DSM.
Pre- Sell and Awareness:
  • Pre-sell retail counterparts, store manager, department manager, associates and customers.
  • Make Territory Sales Lead and DSM aware of success or potential barriers.
Implementation:
  • Merchandising and execution of all assigned projects with required quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain account aesthetics and consistent above average project execution compliance.
  • Perform product/fixture/display/modular resets, set POP and signing appropriately.
  • SP* Certified to perform all available functions.
  • Knowledge, detailed understanding and consistent use of all available functions of handheld device.
  • Sell future programs and promotions to store management.
  • Maintain company, client, and retailer confidentiality.
Reporting:
  • Maintain the highest level of accuracy and integrity in survey/project reporting.
  • Inventory management through counts, pulls, and on-hand and out-of-stock reporting
Post Reporting:
  • Communicate sales and promotional placement results with store management.
  • Report specific requests, needs, and sales opportunities to Territory Sales Lead/DSM.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS, including but not limited to the following:
  • Must be able to lift objects and product up to a maximum of 75 lbs with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects/products up to 35 lbs, in addition the ability to lift heavy objects up to 100 lbs with assistance from another associate.
  • Work could be performed while sitting, standing or walking.
  • Work performed will entail bending, twisting, squatting, and climbing, as well as upper and lower body mobility.
  • Work flexible shifts (am or pm) based on store requirements and needs.
  • Work a minimum of one 4-hour weekend shift based on store requirements.
  • High School diploma or equivalency certification required.
  • Valid driver's license is required as travel to additional locations may be necessary.
  • Automobile liability insurance is required to be maintained.
  • Must have a computer, internet access, printing capabilities, and e-mail.
  • Access to webcam preferred.
