Job Description:


 



  • A Director level role, the BPO Solution Architect is a key synergy point between sales and delivery. The BPO Solution Architect:

    • Is accountable for meeting client business needs by aligning new and existing solutions

    • Is required to work closely with growth and solutions executives on multi-faceted solution sets across the customer lifecycle - from pre-sales support to ongoing service delivery

    • Leads the BPO content of major deals and provides a solution vision for the opportunity and coordinating the supporting solution resources

    • Equips Optum to pursue complex, highly strategic deals by bringing together a diverse set of challenging product capabilities

    • Provides support to ensure non-standard and highly complex solution development and delivery prior to deployment

    • Depending on the severity and complexity of a given incident or client situation this individual may be engaged in one-time deliverables or ongoing management

 


 


 


Primary Responsibilities:


 



  • The Solution Architect is responsible for design of BPO solutions

  •  Provide hands-on BPO leadership including implementing solutions 

  • Individual, Client Specific Solution Architecting Projects: Engage with market specific sales and product leaders on OGS opportunities to develop and implement innovative solutions to meet customer demand. Engagement may occur during pre-sales, sales and post-sales activity. Expectations include the ability to provide leadership relative to solution ideation, creation, development, and implementation. The Solution Architect

    • Provides hands-on technical leadership including implementing solutions

    • Manages all operating group, senior client buyer and functional owner relationships for the designated solution

    • Drives the necessary sign-off of the solution with proper input from the operating groups on client business objectives, industry, risk assessment, budget and preferences (see service group rules, process and escalation approach for specifics)

    • Manages sales team, subject matter experts required during the sales process and the communication collaboration with the delivery organization(s)

    • Collaborates with the operating groups to provide input to terms and conditions and in some cases accountable for specific contractual terms and conditions

    • Interfaces with the delivery organizations to ensure effective transition, shape services, collaborate on clear solution assumptions, determine appropriate service delivery locations and related cost to deliver

    • Understands and translates buyer requirements into a standard solution offering deal approach, solution plan, proposal and cost estimate leveraging standard process methods, deliverables and the right collection of offerings

    • Clearly defines the input required to create cost estimates; preparing the cost model estimates working with delivery organization(s), solution(if applicable) and CTS to deliver the defined scope of services

    • Aligns final solution architecture (including statement of work, schedules and other contractual documents) with final terms and conditions

    • Directs and coordinates with Legal & Commercial and Corporate Transaction Services (CTS) in areas specific to the solution to ensure use of standards

  • Global Projects Initiatives: In this role, you will be expected to develop and deploy global strategies and initiatives aimed at improving the experience and service of our client base. These strategies may span a large business unit or multiple markets sites. The product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact multiple functions and or customer accounts (internal or external) and could have a broad impact on the business

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


 



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field required, MBA or equivalent

  • At least five years of BPO consulting, sales, project or account management experience in the healthcare payer and / or provider hospital segment

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in outsourcing professional services

  • 3 years of experience representing offshore markets

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, sales strategy, and or proposal development roles

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Solution Planning Deal Shaping

  • Sound US Healthcare Domain Knowledge

  • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Access and SharePoint

  • Broad range of IT skills

  • Big 4 or Professional Services Consulting experience

  • Six Sigma experience

  • Six Sigma Certification
