Electrical Engineer (Analog/Audio)

Location:Sudbury, MA

Summary:

The successful candidate will join a team of engineers responsible for design and development of wireless microphone and audio conferencing equipment including: analog and digital audio processors, analog and VoIP telephony terminals, and RF transceivers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive detailed hardware design that fulfills the product requirements while meeting schedule, cost and performance goals.
  • Participate in design and engineering, validation, and manufacturing activities.
  • Validate design by interfacing across multiple product development disciplines, including Software, DSP, Mechanical, Acoustics, Program Management, Compliance, and Quality.

Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Product development experience (5+ years) in high-volume electronics
  • Experience with high fidelity audio circuit design
  • General electrical circuit design skills in the majority of the following areas:
    • Microphone, headset and radio audio interface design
    • Analog design; op-amps, filters, switches, transformers
    • RF design; RF filters, PLLs, RF propagation, signal integrity; board impedance control
  • Nice to have, but not necessary:
    • Digital design; logic, CPLDs, FPGAs, Processors, I2C, SPI
    • Power Supplies, linear and switching supplies, control loop stability
    • Thermal design; heat flow, heat sinking
  • Experience with EMC/EMI compliance design principles
  • Experience with computer aided design tools
  • Experienced and highly skilled using bench equipment; oscilloscopes, distortion analyzers, network/spectrum/vector analyzers, power meters, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating with cross functional groups including validation, manufacturing, test, reliability, quality, and compliance.
  • Experience with hand-off to manufacturing and cross-communications between development and third party vendor teams.
