The successful Medical Assistant candidate will be part of a team dedicated to improving the delivery and quality of health care that is patient-centered, safe and effective in a fast-paced environment. 

 

We expect our Medical Assistants to be a jack of all trade.  They will be responsible for completing vitals and blood draws.  The Medical Assistant will also assist with lab testing, x-rays, and front desk tasks as needed.  The responsibilities will be based on education, experience, appropriate training, and will only be permitted to the level of the medical assistant's capability.

 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Reports to the clinic manager.

  • Accurately collect and record patient data including information about the reason they are presenting to the facility and previous medical conditions

  • Take vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight and temperature and documents all information in the patient's chart

  • Preparing patients for examinations

  • Keeps exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilizations as required.

  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens

  • Preparing and administering injections/vaccinations

  • Gives instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant.

  • Assists physician and physician assistant in exam rooms with minor procedures.

  • Performs basic x-rays and EKGs

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • All other duties as assigned by clinical manager

Requirements





  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and/or 3+ years of military trained MA experience required.

  • Phlebotomist certificate preferred

  • Minimum 1+ year of  clinical medical assistant experience with emphasis on excellent customer service, ability to multi-task, work as part of a collaborative team, and possess effective communication and decision making skills required.

  • CPR certified or willing to obtain upon hire.

  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience highly preferred.

  • Effective communication skills

  • Demonstrate accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail

  • Takes initiative, creative, has  problem solving ability, is adaptable, and flexible

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment

  • Successful candidate must submit to TB testing and vaccinations required by company policy.


  • Candidates should be aware that if he/she becomes an employee of United, they acknowledge that they may not also work for the State in any capacity. Also, candidates should they have participated in the making of the State contract with United, acknowledge that at least two years have passed since his/her termination of employment with the State.
