PURPOSE:

The Carrier Order Management Project Manager is responsible for partnering on a project team to deliver on a variety of goals through all aspects of the project ' s lifecycle (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Control and Closure). This includes project plan development, risk management, issue management, project communication, scope management, budget tracking, and status reporting. The Project Manager will need to be able to work in a team environment to be able to successfully, efficiently and proactively communicates regularly with the customer, project stakeholders and senior management; will need to regularly set expectations among these groups regarding scope, timeline and quality of deliverables. Additionally, the Project Manger demonstrates the ability to drive and coordinate a project team of indirect reports.

The Carrier Order Management Project Manager will partner and manage vertical communication with multiple Network Engineering teams to understand scope of work and enlist key contributors to develop & implement project plans in the timeframe established by Senior Leadership. The Project Manager should be able to communicate install deliverables associated with the either Carrier Access or CTBH installations. The Project Manager will need to successfully partner with internal Project Management teams in FNEO and Construction to deliver service based on the Customer Requested Timeline.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Actively manages multiple engineering projects, driving the project teams through a formal project management process to ensure project goals, timelines and budgets are met. Will also oversee multiple projects ensuring project goals, timelines and budgets are met.

- Uses strong leadership skills to effectively manage, without direct authority, project team members to meet goals and expectations. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team and develops project plans to ensure they meet all requirements. Creates a culture of teamwork and demonstrates the value of teamwork through his/her actions.

- Successfully interacts with cross-functional teams that span the organization. Resolves issues via proper communication channels. Proactively identifies key barriers to a project ' s success and works with the project teams to define and manage activities to mitigate those barriers.

- Establishes, owns, and leads project communication forums both vertically and horizontally across regional engineering teams.

- Works toward the continuous improvements of the project management methods, templates, and tools. Partners with PMO leadership in the development and implementation of project management processes, operations and best practices.

- The Project Manager will be able to make decisions that offer the ability to either keep projects going or essentially stop them.

The Project Manager needs to be able to cohesively pull data together for presentation to a customer in a variety of formats including, but not limited to: weekly status reports, quarterly business reviews, and executive readouts on a Carriers implementation.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- The Project Management role will have significant impact to the organization, both short and long term. In the short term, the PM will be responsible for ensuring their project team completes work on time and that critical engineering projects are not delayed-resulting in the inability to meet business goals and improve service. In the long term, the PM will ensure that the short term problems do not result in long term impacts to engineering schedules.

- Formal training in Project management methodologies and practices strongly preferred.

- Expert in MS office skills required.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Bachelor ' s degree; or equivalent training education and experience required.

- 4 to 6 years related PMO experience is required.
