Description
This position maintains proper accounting records by accurately and efficiently computing, classifying, preparing, recording and verifying financial data.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare invoices, checks, account statements, reports and other records, and review for accuracy. Maintain vendor files, process vendor payments and returned checks.
  • Process and balance sale transactions and balance sale day deposits.
  • Process arbitration paperwork and submit various quick check requests as needed. Submit check requests to Shared Service Center, if needed.
  • Verify and post all daily and sale day activity to include deposits, receivables, returns, after sale voids, liabilities, receipts, etc. to general ledger.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts with various other registers and accounts, such as depository, seller check and seller draft accounts, AR holds and returns, exchange accounts, etc.
  • Audit invoices, research discrepancies, investigate overages/shortages, and determine/approve for collection or refund.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments and charges are processed timely and kept current.
  • Reconcile bank statements to depository, sale check and sale draft accounts and investigate all bank account adjustments.
  • Calculate and prepare month end journal entries for prepaid expenses and expense accruals as needed.
  • Run, review, balance and interpret reports daily and at month end (i.e., Held Item report, Outstanding Returned Item report, etc.). Reconcile report discrepancies and research problems.
  • Maintain petty cash fund, change ordering and outgoing reimbursements, end-of-month count and reconciliation.
  • Prepare deposit for armored car pickup daily.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor (i.e., filing, assisting vendors, clients or customers with questions relating to accounts, procedures and services, etc.).
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and equipment required.
  • Effective communication skills required.
  • Must possess good problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Experience with varying office equipment (i.e. 10 key, copier, fax, etc.)
  • Good computer software skills necessary. Must possess basic Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks, manual dexterity.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception.
