Primary Responsibilities and Opportunities:
  • Create complex reports and data extracts from internal databases to fulfill information needs for the state customer including interpreting the business specifications
  • Interpret and analyze claims, premium, capitation and membership data in support of Underwriting, Actuarial and
  • utilization analyses for internal customers
  • Lead small projects to completion by contributing to database creation, statistical modeling and financial reports
  • Create and update automated processes and parameter driven self service reports
  • Guide, train, instruct and assist team members with technical issues and designs
  • Understand the business and how various data elements and subject areas are utilized

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or HS diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years of data analysis and reporting experience
  • 3+ years of work experience in a corporate setting
  • 1+ years of health care experience working with claims data and medical codes
  • Proficiency in performing data analytics
  • Proficiency with SQL against relational databases like Oracle, Sybase or SQL server
  • Proficiency with MS Access
  • Proficiency working with MS Excel including formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of FACETS
  • Experience in using Crystal reporting
