Employees
in this position perform various duties related to the Pharmacy Prior
Authorization process. Responsibilities include interpreting Physician's
letters of Medical necessity, in/outs and retrieving prescription
information from the computer system. This role consults with customers,
patients, Pharmacists and/or Physicians regarding use of medications
and formulary alternatives. Also reviews and approves/pends requests for
prescription authorizations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Enter prescriptions and verify appropriate information.
  • Contact patients, Pharmacists and Doctor's offices to resolve Claims issues.
  • Process prescriptions (from Intake to Order completion).
  • Resolve Customer issues, ensuring accurate information is provided.
  • Consistently
    meet established prod
  • Schedule adherence, and quality
    standards while maintaining a good attendance record.
  • Extensive work experience within own function.
  • Work is frequently completed without established procedures.
  • Work independently.
  • May act as a resource for others.
  • May coordinate others' activities.
  • Shift is 10:30am- 7pm

Requirements

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to work between 10:30am- 7pm, Monday through Friday.
  • State of Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician License, or the ability to obtain licensure within 90 days.
  • 2+ years of Pharmacy-related experience, or 2+ years of experience working with Member- and/or Provider-related calls.
  • 2+
    years of experience with Windows PC applications, including Microsoft
    Word and Excel, as well as the ability to learn new computer
    systems/applications.
  • 6+ months of Healthcare Industry experience.
