The Mental Health Care Advocate position will assist with assessment/triage as well as inpatient and concurrent review while managing a broad range of diagnostic patient cases.

 

 


*** This position requires the ability to work Monday thru Friday, either 8a - 5p  or  9a - 6p.   As a new employee, will be required to work office-based in our Ashford / Dunwoody office for a minimum of one year.  ***

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Focus on initial inpatient admission for psychiatric and chemical dependency patients

  • Making patient assessments and determining appropriate levels of care

  • Obtaining information from providers on outpatient requests for treatment

  • Determining if additional clinical treatment sessions are needed

  • Managing inpatient and outpatient mental health cases throughout the entire treatment plan

  • Administering benefits and reviewing treatment plans

  • Coordinating benefits and transitions between various areas of care

  • Identifying ways to add value to treatment plans and consulting with facility staff or outpatient care providers on those ideas

Requirements



Requirements:



  • Independently Licensed Master's degree-level clinician in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling

  • Active and unrestricted license:  LCSW, LPC, PhD or RN with behavioral health experience

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in a related mental health environment

  • Inpatient experience

  • Computer literacy with MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)

  • Must have the ability to talk on the phone and type at the same time

  • Demonstrated telephonic/office-based experience

 

Additional Preferred Assets:         


  • Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse

  • Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients
