JOB FUNCTION:

Turning commutators/rotors, undercutting commutators, balancing armatures/rotors, straighten shafts (sometimes using a torch), installing necessary bearings, fans, etc., applying XT Paint (when necessary) and completing any electrical checks/tests needed post Dip N' Bake. Assemble brush rigging per sales order specifications. Assemble armature, frame, rotor, and stator. Assure correct mounting for motor. Test motor (complete nay required paperwork), finish and face off customer fits on brackets (front and back), apply adapter if necessary and face off adapter. Mount necessary accessories, brakes, tachometers, and blower motors. Paint motor to customer specifications, apply applicable nameplates and warning labels, tollgate inspection completion and crate. Miter saw use is necessary during some crating functions. Nail guns are also used. Performs various mechanical and electrical re-op functions to correct defects identified during the assembly process and/or during test. Performs routine preventative and corrective maintenance functions involving the tools and equipment utilized in the assembly and re-op of motors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Receive and understand verbal and written technical instructions and respond in English.
2. The ability to read and interpret information from prints, factory orders, routings and other internal documentation in hard copy or electronic formats.
3. Function safely in an industrial manufacturing setting where factory physical conditions exist including shift work as required.
4. Attendance and punctuality to RGG standards.
5. The ability to lift from 1 to 50 lbs. close to the body and 35 lbs. away from the body. 60% of the time. More than 50 lbs. 40% of the time with assistance and be able to stand, stoop, twist, lift as necessary to complete assignments.
6. Use the overhead crane/hoist.
7. The use of hand tools (hammer, levers, pry bar, etc.).
8. Use appropriate gages and measuring devices.
9. Have the knowledge of basic mathematics needed and to measure in fractions of an inch.
10. Meet quality and productivity requirements following WI, SOP, PCD, etc.
11. Follow lock out/tag out and other safety procedures.
12. Continue to completion the appropriate skills inventory.
13. Demonstrate knowledge of motor assembly techniques.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conform to policies, procedures as an RGG Teammate.
2. Perform housekeeping duties as required.
3. Train, share knowledge; information with coworkers.
4. Other temporary duties/responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
2. Demonstrate knowledge of factory practices involving the various types of machines/equipment used to assemble motors or their subassemblies.
3. Demonstrable knowledge of shop mathematics, prints and measuring devises.
4. The completion of in-house skills inventory matrix.
5. Address and function with basic computer skills as defined by the company.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. The ability to lift 50 lbs. close to the body and 35 lbs. away from the body frequently (60%) and weights greater than 50 lbs. with assistance occasionally (40%)
2. The ability and willingness to use the company designated personal protective equipment.
3. Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions, prints and gauges.
4. Frequent bending, stooping, twisting and lifting (assisted and unassisted).
5. Ability to work in the factory environment (concrete floor, heat, cold, noise, allergies etc.).
6. Physically highly repetitive in nature.
