This position would be office based initially during the training period and then has the potential to move to a work at home status.

 

Schedule will be 10:30am - 7pm Central time

 

As a Behavioral/Mental Health Care Advocate you will be responsible for case management and utilization review of behavioral health and substance abuse cases.  You'll have a direct impact on the lives of our members as you recommend and manage the appropriate level of care throughout the entire treatment plan.

Primary Responsibilities:





  • Focus on referrals for psychiatric and chemical dependency request



  • Making patient assessments and determining appropriate levels of care



  • Obtaining information from members on outpatient requests for treatment



  • Handling incoming queue calls from members with various requests, including crisis calls



  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems



  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses



  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks



  • Translates concepts into practice



  • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues



  • Coaches, provide feedback, and guide others



  • Acts as a resource for others with less experience

Requirements


Required Qualifications:



  • Licensed Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling, or Licensed Ph.D., or an RN with 2 or more years of experience in behavioral health

  • Licenses must be active and unrestricted

  • 2 years post-Masters experience in a related mental health environment

  • Proficient Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

 


Preferred Qualifications: 



  • Inpatient experience

  • Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse

  • Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients
