QUALIFICATIONS:

-Experience with CNC Machines (Mills, Lathes, Grinders, etc.)

- Supervisory Experience

- At least 5+ yrs experiene

- Experience with tool change overs, machine setup, machine operating, etc.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead the shift by example (intangibles: good attendance, good attitude, team player, hard worker).
2. Execute the production plan based on the schedule.
3. Coordinate personnel to attain the schedule and respond to situations regarding people, equipment, and materials.
4. Assure through physical inspection that parts produced meet the customers specifications as indicated on Process sheets and Control Plans. Review and correct non-conformances with the operator per the Reject Reaction Plan.
5. Attain the production schedule and meet standards for production and quality. Monitor production levels and assure that standards are met. Run operation through lunch and break periods when needed. Offer suggestions for increased efficiency and productivity.
6. Perform assigned duties:
* Set-up and adjust tools utilizing presetting machines i.e. height gages, test indicators set-up plans and technical drawings. Prepare tool packages for setups. Troubleshoot and perform adjustments when required or requested.
* Solve tooling problems with Senior Techs., Supervisors, or Engineering.
* Manage tool life, predict tool expiration, and follow tool change guidelines.
* Assist the operator in knockdowns. Move all unused tools, gages, fixtures and parts from the machine and work area. Assure that unused tools are removed from the machine, tagged and moved to the tool crib. Assure that a current program is submitted with the previous program listing, process sheet, and offset sheets to Engineering. Never allow inactive program listings, process sheet, or offset sheets to remain in the machine work area.
* Perform set-ups and prove-outs as necessary. Assure that all necessary tools, fixtures, gauges, and raw materials, are available and in good working order. Assure that the program, offset list and process sheet is current and complete.
* Review all first articles and decide to start production.
* Perform basic functions such as calling up blocks and making tool offsets and adjustments.
7. Coach operators in effective production and quality techniques. Monitor SPC charts and teach the operators how to take corrective or preventive actions as required.
8. Assure operators are following Control Plan checks, the quality checklists, and CMM sampling plans. Review CMM paperwork and make adjustments as necessary.
9. Assure all rejected parts are written up and sent to MRB for review or disposition accordingly. Review scrap with operators immediately.
10. Manage material (locate materials in staging areas / arrange supplies and production materials).
11. Keep track of tool inventory levels and supplies as specified.
12. Housekeeping: maintain a neat and tidy environment with everything in its place.
13. Maintain all paperwork (time cards, move tickets, reject / scrap tags, checklists, end of shift reports, inventory sheets, tool catalogs, tool change tags, logbooks, Incident reports, SPC charts, and downtime sheets).
14. Monitor and / or perform all startup and shut down procedures, and preventive maintenance or check logs.
15. Assist personnel in performing required preventive maintenance on equipment.
16. Assure that all tools and fixtures are in good condition. Replace worn tooling and fixture components. Report unresolved problems that affect quality, productivity or safety.
17. Assure that all gages are calibrated and in good working order.
18. Train operators in safety, proper part handling, deburring, loading, inspection, equipment operation and maintenance.
19. Assure that the operators maintain the physical appearance of the work area, equipment, tools and personal protective apparel as necessary to present a clean and professional company.
20. Assure that the work area, tools, equipment and personal apparel are properly maintained to guarantee a safe work environment. Report possible hazards to maintenance or the Supervisor.
21. Assure that all pertinent information is recorded for the benefit of the next shift and Mfg. Tech. to aid in future investigative problem solving.
22. Assure operators give proper turnover to the oncoming shift.
23. Report to the supervisor operator violations that may require disciplinary actions. Unless the violations are extreme and require immediate action, refrain from disciplinary action until properly advised.
24. Acquire and maintain certification and training as outlined by the Skills Matrix.
