Compensation: $8.00 hourly

This position is responsible for the safe moving, staging and parking of vehicles from and to the Auction and on Auction property in compliance with Auction safety rules and regulations. Must be willing to commit to working the full day of days assigned without leaving early. Clean Driving Record. Must be able to drive both Manual "Stick" and Automatic Transmissions.

Job Responsibilities:

· Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises, as well as pick-up and deliver vehicles to and from the Auction, while observing Auction driving rules, the Uniform Vehicle Code, rules of the road and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.

· Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary and locate “lost” vehicles.

· Verify VIN of cars being picked up and/or delivered against Transportation request.

· Re-park sale vehicles, remove “old sale numbers” off windshields and re-number sale vehicles. Write information on windshield as instructed by supervisor.

· If necessary, inflate tires and jump start vehicles using a battery box and air tank. Notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative, fill gas tank when vehicle is out of gas.

· Assist customers (i.e., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and co-workers as needed.

· Complete paperwork and condition reports as required.

· Perform walk around each vehicle prior to moving vehicle and note damage on Transportation request.

Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., driving vehicles through auction sale lanes on designated sale days.

Qualifications

Education & Specialized Knowledge

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard or automatic transmission

Experience

  • Previous automotive auction experience preferred
