We have a client in Livermore who has an immediate need for a Senior Financial Analyst



Description: POSITION SUMMARY This individual will be responsible for providing financial support in connection with multiple operational components of "Company". Content will cover a wide range of financial, managerial accounting, analytical, and reporting content in direct association with Product Cost, Gross Margin, Inventory, and Operational Efficiencies. The Senior Cost Accountant will be expected to proactively engage multiple business functions, to deliver improved reporting content, recommend and implement process/system improvements, and provide ongoing financial/accounting support in order to improve business transparency, insight, and decision support. Content will be reviewed regularly by "Company" and "Company" executive management. As a consequence, specific emphasis will exist with regards to reporting accuracy and the candidate's ability to drive and meet deliverables in accordance with company schedules (i.e. Budgets, Forecasts, Close, etc.) and occasional ad hoc analysis and interpretation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

*Operating as Company's financial content expert with regards to all Product Cost, Gross Margin, and Inventory related subject matter.
*Supporting the Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecast, and Monthly/Quarterly Close reporting for "Company", including generation of business line Gross Margins, Variance interpretation, Trend Analysis, Forward looking considerations, and impact quantification.
*Partnering with Operational Management in order to identify, quantify, and implement opportunities to optimize financial outcomes while mitigating risks/exposures, to deliver Product Cost and Gross Margin improvements, in pursuit of company financial objectives.
*Recommending and implementing Financial Process/System improvements and developing specific content expertise with GP, FRX, SQL, data warehouse, and other reporting tools, in order to establish a more consistent, predictable, accurate, and value added reporting environment.
*Regularly assisting in the construction, interpretation, and delivery of ad hoc analyses and reporting requests within their areas of responsibility.
*Assist in budget preparation and planning.

*Follows all regulatory policies, procedures, privacy, and security standards in accordance with government agencies including all HIPAA, SOX and GAAP requirements.

EDUCATION

*Bachelor Degree in Finance and/or Accounting.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

*Proven tolerance for ambiguity, ample professional curiosity, and demonstrated analytical problem solving capacity
*5 or more years general accounting and fixed assets
*Mature communication skills and the ability to summarize significant amounts of data in order to concisely convey relevant data driven business content
*Positive "Can Do" attitude with an ability to interface comfortably with management in order to implement recommended improvements
*Previous industry work experience is a definite plus

TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

* Working knowledge of Great Plains 2010 accounting software is highly desirable
*Knowledge of the functionality of Hyperion is a definite plus
*Working knowledge of MS Office products (especially Excel, PowerPoint)
