Ready Auto Transport is looking for a high performing and energetic Quality Assurance test Engineer to join our growing product development team dedicated to our industry leading auto transportation solutions. This position requires someone who enjoys working within a team environment and who is passionate about Agile and Scrum methodologies to deliver quality products on schedule.
As the QA Test Engineer, he/she is responsible for executing on Ready’s testing strategies across all of the IT projects. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and self-directed, and thrive in a fast-paced and high-visibility work environment.
The QA Test Engineer reports directly to the Director of Software Development and will work closely with the Director in establishing and maintaining testing standards and bug management. As a member of the software development team, you will develop software in the transportation industry working with many of the latest Microsoft technologies including .Net 4.0, Web API, WCF, Visual Studio 2012, SQL Server, MVC, and custom ASP.Net applications.
Primary Testing Responsibilities:
· Work closely with developers, architects, product owners and others in establishing effective test cases based on business requirements
· Ensure test cases are complete and are traceable to requirements and design
· Complete tasks within the allotted time and ensure that the technical and functional objectives are met
· Perform root cause analysis on production issues
· Perform scripted and exploratory testing
· Create automated tests to be part of the build verification tests
· Review all production release requests and provide a vote of confidence
Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years of experience as a QA Test Engineer
· Experience with Microsoft Test Manager 2010/2012
· Experience in testing web based applications, mobile, and web services
· Experience in using SoapUI or other similar test harnesses for web service testing
· Experience with automation testing practices and tools
· Experience in writing simple SQL queries for data validation
· Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
· Experience mentoring less-experienced testers
· An understanding of different test types such as UAT, integration, and performance
· Self-motivated; works independently
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities.
· Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, especially in representing their technical expertise to a diverse audience
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze detailed business requirements, raise questions and seek resolution to outstanding clarifications required for test case identification
· Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook
