Purpose of Job:

This position will provide UHC enterprise-wide support for continuing the momentum to transform our culture by Embedding and Living Our Values' through leading the implementation of the UHC Culture Plan, serving as the lead for the UHC Culture Operating Team, and aligning with the UHG Culture Program Management Office.

This is a collaborative role that will connect and coordinate with executive leaders, Human Capital and Communications across UHC, and across UHG, to capitalize on enterprise programs, gather and share best practices and oversee the culture training interventions to drive consistency in the application of our Values and Principles. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, UHC Human Capital and Talent Strategy.

Major Responsibilities:

Areas of responsibility include organization effectiveness, project management, stakeholder management, communications and change management, measuring and sustaining momentum on the UHC culture operating plan and connecting at the local level. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Drive the culture transformation through leadership and management of a multi-faceted UHC Embedding and Living our Values Plan which includes lengthening the shadow of the leader, reaching every employee and unlocking the power of local engagement, developing and leveraging easy to use tools, reward and recognition and values-based people practices.

Lead the UHC Culture Operating Team in the planning, execution and reporting of the culture plan.

Embed culture in all communications and through a multi-faceted training strategy reinforcing our Values and Principles for employees at all levels.

Work with business leaders and culture leads to integrate activities into the overall strategic plans and drive accountability deeper in the organization.

Develop a proactive story that drives positive coverage of the execution of the UHC-wide culture plan tailored by business, core service and at the local level.

Foster innovation and build strong networks across the organization to create opportunities that strengthen the company's culture.

Build leadership agility, adaptive leader practices and reinforce the impact of our collective leadership shadow.

Partner with Communications and Talent Development in the execution of the enterprise culture change plan.

Identify project duration, effort, sequence, and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives.

Monitor and report progress throughout the project life cycle, using appropriate project planning and scheduling tools (e.g., dashboards, metrics).

Identify and forecast variances and trends throughout the project lifecycle to ensure that project schedules and resource requirements are met (e.g., forecasted project plans/ schedules vs. actual project status).

Leverage Vital Signs and other metrics to measure the effectiveness of our culture activities and success of our overall culture transformation goals.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience.  Graduate degree preferred.

 

10+ years' experience in organization effectiveness and/or adult learning 

 

Extensive experience leading broad-scale and transformative change initiatives impacting multiple stakeholders and employees.

Passion for embedding the UHG Values and Principles while continuing the momentum to create the desired culture.

Project Management expertise with extensive experience leading large-scale complex initiatives and achieving superior results through cross-operational teams.

Ability to function as a quick study of complex and dynamic issues and creatively solve problems with a highly organized approach to developing high impact communications.

Strong influencing and negotiation skills and ability to display a strong sense of versatility in relating to different levels within the organization and people with varying backgrounds and ideas. Able to facilitate consensus and directions for change.

Strong executive presence with the ability to gain credibility, rapport and support from key internal and enterprise-wide  stakeholders.

Persuasive and energetic communications' ability with engaging and effective written and oral communications.

Strategic thinker with experience developing both short-term and long-term plans and ensuring execution.

Strong problem-solving and process skills.

Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizations and develop networked relationships.

Excellent judgment and the personal maturity to interact directly with, and earn the trust of, senior executives.

A high level of professional integrity and the ability to handle sensitive issues and situations with discretion.

Exemplary organizational skills and attention to detail.

The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Ability to develops and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals.

Experienced in identifying key risk areas and developing creative solutions to difficult problems.
