Web Strategist

Bible League International is seeking candidates for a Web Strategist for our Crete, Illinois office. Bible League comes alongside local churches and ministries to equip them for Bible-based evangelistic outreach, discipleship, and church planting. Bible League helps to grow God's Kingdom across the globe through Bible translation, Bible-based literacy, Bible learning programs, and building the Church.

Position Summary

The Web Strategist will monitor website for bounce rates, conversion rates and best practices and react to low conversion and bounce rates quickly. Manage day to day priorities, policy directives, and goals. Manage the design, enhancements, and modifications to the website. Manage website for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Manages AdWords accounts.
Monitor web usage and provides statistics for management reporting. Ensures the website design and content meets the organization standards. Write and edit web content that can be read by search engines and online audiences. Optimize web content using required style guides and graphic standards. Review website regularly to ensure content accuracy, timeliness, and relevance. Tests website accessibility and functionality from various environments. Anticipate emerging trends, technologies, needs, and potentialities as they pertain to the organization.
Implement e-marketing initiatives through e communications sending email communications to our donors and friends. Create, track and implement all e-communications.

Essential Duties

Manage content for Bible League International website including social network media channels
Manage eAppeals being sent to donors. Watch all statistics on e-conversions, test when possible and report back to Senior Director of Integrated Marketing.
Manages SEO on both the ministry and sales websites.
Manages Google Adwords.
Ensure the quality and credibility of Bible League International primary web sites by performing editorial reviews of web content and ensure adherence to Section 508 accessibility requirements.
Perform periodic user analysis and evaluation of results.
Manage the Web Creative Specialist and collaborate closely with this person.
Develop, locate, and select appropriate multi-media content (e.g. Text, images, animations, music and video) and format for Web use.
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement new tools and technologies to improve content delivery and better meet customer needs.
Develop and execute SEO strategies with the Web Creative Specialist.
Create e-books and other digital collateral as needed.
Develop and maintain scheduled placement of content in accordance with plans, policies, procedures and timelines.
Edit and proofread copy received from other content contributors.
Clear copyright for the use of any content or images used on the web, as needed.
Post materials directly or collaborate with IT for posting.
Compile appropriate statistics for management reports on the usage and user satisfaction with the web content.

Qualifications

Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct him/herself in a Christ-like manner.
3-5 years of experience in Web Content Management or as Marketing Writer.
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, Marketing or similar.
Able to write publicity materials for online reading.
Able to manage multiple details and complex processes.
Works comfortably within a virtual team environment.
Able to learn CMS software and related applications, virtual collaboration and online repositories.
Friendly with strong people-skills, able to grasp new concepts quickly.
Able to multi-task and proven ability to meet deadlines. Able to work often without direct supervision
Occasional travel as needed.
