About this job

The Artisan is directly involved in the manufacturing and quality of watchstraps or leather good products. The Artisan will work at one or more stations in the cutting department, assembly and/or inspecting and ensuring the quality of the process, material or final product. The qualified candidate must be flexible to move to different stations or assignments to support the needs of the production.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assemble and operate various types of semi-auto or automatic machines after basic training.
  2. Responsible to use the protection personal equipment required (PPE) and to apply all the safety recommendations for all or each process, machine and area of work.
  3. Responsible to maintain the area of work clean and organized.
  4. Respects and maintain in good conditions the product, furniture, tools and machinery. Responsible for the daily maintenance of the tools and machines.
  5. Read, understand and follow all of the SOP’s for the stations and/or directions required for each assignment.
  6. Inspect the product before and after to be processing and reject the defectives according to the quality requirements.
  7. Responsible to achieve the daily production at the required level of quality and to request support when is needed.
  8. Responsible to declare quantities on the system (writing/computer) to follow quality and production levels
  9. Train other artisans, providing the correct information and support.
  10. Participate actively in the resolution of problems and improvements of the process bringing ideas and proposals( MRP/Kaizen)
  11. Maintain timely communication with production supervisor or line leader when safety, quality or other critical issues arise.

Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience working in manufacturing (leather, textile, electronics, or medical industry).
  3. Ability to operate machines
  4. Experience working as quality control.
  5. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  6. Able to lift 30 pounds weight
