About this job

Pad printer operators are responsible for printing watch dials. The operators will operate the pad printers, maintain ink levels, use proper inks for the job worksheet, load the dials into the printer and fill racks with printed dials for further operations. In addition, pad printer operators will blend and test paint, inks, stains, and solvents to complete the scheduled work orders. Operators will examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, stock specifications, colors, and color sequences.

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety and health rules
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Blend and test ink
  • Maintain quality standards
  • Suggest process improvements
  • Machine setup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Input instructions in order to program automated machinery, via the machines controller.
  • Change and adjust fixtures as necessary to ensure to match work orders
  • Adjust machine for proper operation; pressure, speed, timing and so forth.
  • Affix dials in the machine fixtures for printing
  • Post printing inspects dials for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects.
  • Load, position, and adjust unprinted materials on holding fixtures or in equipment loading and feeding mechanisms.
  • Monitor feeding, printing, and racking processes of presses in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions; make any necessary adjustments.
  • During input inspect and examine dials blanks for finish and quality
  • Monitor stocks of materials such as dials, ink, and fixtures, etc. in order to maintain supplies during equipment operation

Job Requirements

  • Experience in the operation of print, lithographic equipment, presses or similar industrial machinery
  • Highly motivated, results oriented
  • High school diploma required
  • Associate degree preferably in machine or plant operation
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in light industry machine operation.
