About this job

The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing direction and assistance with the activities of daily living and personal care necessary for each resident to remain as independent as possible. Open Certified Nursing Assistant positions available for Full Time, Part Time, or PRN "on call".

Job Responsibilities:

Follows established standards of nursing practice and implements facility policies and procedures.
Listens to resident and family concerns and initiates corrective actions and communicates concerns and outcomes to the Nurse.
Interacts with customers and their families to build relationships, collect information that assists in meeting their personal needs, and ensure their satisfaction with the personal care services provided.
Provides support and encouragement to all residents to remain as independent as possible.
Provides residents with assistance in activities of daily living as documented in the resident's care plans.
Assures residents are given adequate assistance with personal care and oral hygiene.
Assists with ambulation, transferring or transporting of residents, (including pushing residents in wheelchairs) to the dining rooms, activities and/or various areas of Prairieview as necessary.
Communicates any change in resident condition to the Nurse immediately.
Assists with serving meals and beverages, supervising dining rooms during meal times to ensure resident safety.
Reinforces principles of good nutrition and assist residents with menu choices as necessary
Encourages good nutrition and hydration.



Requirements:

Experience working in assisted living, home health or long-term care environment preferred.
High school diploma or its equivalent.
Nursing Assistant certification.
Must possess, or be able to obtain current CPR certification.
Must have an adequate understanding of English and be able to speak and write it well.
Must be able to work independently, as well as a team member, with a positive, pro-active attitude.
Is flexible and adapts to change and new tasks.
Follows all policies and procedures of Prairieview at The Garlands.
Must be familiar with the Rights of the Resident, the definition of Resident Abuse, and the reporting protocol of possible Resident Abuse.
Must be a flexible, highly customer service and people oriented individual who demonstrates compassion, patience and understanding, and is willing to do whatever it takes to provide the highest level of service.
Must be a team-oriented individual who enjoys working collaboratively with others, creating a positive and uplifting environment, and communicating very effectively at all levels.
