Within our Architectural Coatings business, we produce paints, stains, and specialty coatings under the PPG Pittsburgh® Paints, PPG Olympic® Paints and Stains, and PPG Porter® Paints brands, and service the North American coatings industry across three channels.
PPG has recently completed the acquisition of the AkzoNobel North American Architectural Coatings business. This acquisition provides our newly combined Trade organization a tremendous platform for profitable growth. This acquisition enables us to now operate in 800 retail stores, sell through over 4,000 dealer stores and supply product to large home improvement retailers, such as Lowe's and Home Depot. This acquisition also brings a portfolio of well established brands to PPG such as Glidden, Glidden Professional, Ralph Lauren Paint, Devoe Coatings and Martha Stewart Living paints; Flood, Sikkens and Synteko woodcare products; plus Liquid Nails adhesives and caulks.
The Brand Manager, Olympic Paints & Stains is focused on supporting the development and execution of the Olympic Paint and Stain
Brand for products sold at Lowe’s and other retail locations. A successful candidate is a well-rounded retail or CPG
marketing professional with experience in media, advertising, brand management and public relations.
Key Responibilities Include:
· Strategic Planning: Development of actionable annual and on-going Brand strategies based on consumer insights,
category trends, competitive environment and business needs
· Brand Management: Adherence to Brand & Product positioning and guidelines for all materials developed that
support the Olympic Brand.
· Packaging Development: Development of new and base product labels that are strategically aligned to the Brand
and product positioning
· Promotional Development: Development of Branded business driving promotions to close consumers at pointo of
purchase
· Project Management: Management of the development, production and implementation of Marketing
communications tactics.
· Agency Management (Advertising, Packaging, Media, Social and PR): Management of strategic and day-to-day
agency interactions to ensure communications efforts are aligned with Brand strategy and positioning
· Budgeting: Maximization of budgets by uilizing ROI tools as a measurement of effectiveness and manage all
aspects of the yearly budget.
· Communication: Interfacing, influencing and driving alignment across PPG management team, Brand management
team, Channel Marketing, and other cross functional teams to ensure delivery/execution of channel marketing plans.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have thorough Marketing knowledge, excellent project management skills and be able to manage multiple product related projects at one time. Excellent Communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a sales organization and cross functional teams are required. They must have knowledge of the market place, the ability to think strategically, and strong business acumen.
Experience with the following:
strategic skills; building brands; consumer marketing & media; creative side of marketing; brand positioning; packaging design/working with the agencies; media-TV-digital print;
5 years of Marketing experience and Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related technical field are required. An advanced Marketing degree or MBA is a plus .
