Job Summary
Gather disparate data from various data sources; analyze and normalize to ensure data integrity for analysis. Provide consistent, relevant and accurate data as well as guidance/knowledge of the data and definitions that are available for analysis.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Serves as a resource to assigned client in area of expertise; establishes productive relationships with appropriate staff of corporate functional groups as well as business units, understanding what each business does and being familiar with their strategic objectives.
- Gathers and compiles raw data; conducts research for industry trends and benchmarks; and normalizes data to be incorporated into a centralized data format as well as synthesizing information into a easily communicated form for presentation if needed.
- Analyzes, reports, makes comparisons to industry/company benchmarks, determines trends, and prepares cost analyses.
- Prepares presentations with prescribed analysis regarding current competitive and financial markets, potential transactions, decision-making analysis and new business concepts/models. Prepares reports with charts and graphs, mailing lists, maps and ad hoc requests. May accompany Manager to meetings to assist with presentations.
- Provides consistent, relevant and accurate data as well as guidance/knowledge of the data and definitions that are available for analysis.
- Formulates in-depth company and market analysis, such as benchmarking and trends, covering industries and markets related to HD Supply�s businesses, in support of strategic transactions and initiatives.
- Provides recommendations based on findings and analysis. Provides input on policies and procedures. Participates in department and interdepartmental projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.


Nature and Scope
- Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
- Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
- May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.


Work Environment
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- No travel required.


Minimum Qualifications
- Must be eighteen years of age
- Must pass the Drug Test
- Must pass the Background Check
- Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable


Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

- Participates in the development of customer Request For Proposal response creation.

Takes single point accountability for the creation of customer Request For Proposals.

Provides direct input into customer supply chain solutions (i.e., leveraging our service offerings)

Assists in developing customer specific business solutions.

Participates in the development and project management of customer contract implementation plans.

Performs other duties including, but not limited to: Managing the regional sales pipeline and associated reporting to leadership; Managing the Targeting Tool and targeting process; Administrating our Transmission Services sales efforts, including targeting, pipeline, marketing collateral, sales strategy, and field contract implementation support

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a Technical discipline.

Minimum of 2 years field experience in sales, operations, and/or project services.

Experience conducting industry research utilizing quantitative and qualitative skills.

Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of software; particularly with Power Point and Excel.

Proficiency in the application of basic project management concepts and tools such as creating project schedules and action tracking lists.

Proficiency in the application of the Share Point document management system.

-
Proficiency in use of the SX.e ERP system.

-
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

-
Ability to effectively lead and/or participate in a cross-functional teaming environment.

-
A basic understanding of Investor Owned Utility operating models for distribution, transmission, substation, and generation business units.

An understanding of basic Supply Chain Management principles such as: purchasing, sourcing, inventory management, and integrated supply management.

An understanding of basic financial pro-forma structure.
