Impact
As a Commercial Delivery Driver you are the final point of contact to ensure the company meets our delivery service level of agreements with our customers. Our solutions help our clients earn the best possible discounts on First-Class and Standard postage with our presort services. Your career as a Commercial Delivery Driver will help you maintain your DOT regulated driving experience, allow you to be home EVERY night with local deliveries and increase your experience in the mailing industry. This position is located in Hartford, CT.
The Job
Operates an "articulating" vehicle (i.e. Tractor-Trailer combination) in a safe manner ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and state rules of the road. Picks up and deliver mail from customer sites and postal distribution centers.
Inspects products to verify conformance to customer and United States Postal Service, presort slugs and pickup slips on each order prior to loading on the truck.
Inspects assigned vehicle per the PB Presort Services pre-trip inspection guidelines and procedures daily. Reports any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor to be fixed immediately. Keeps vehicle clean.
Maintains a daily driver's log for mileage and cargo where required by DOT regulations.
Promotes a clean work area to prevent possible injuries and/or tripping hazards to self and others. Assists in other areas as needed between assigned pickups
Qualification
Minimum 21 years of age.
Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License in the state you reside.
Minimum of two years or more experience driving a similar sized vehicle in the last 5 years.
Ability to drive an "articulating" vehicle (i.e. Tractor-Trailer combination.)
Ability to meet and comply with all applicable US Department of Transportation requirements for pre-employment and post hire.
Ability to read a map and understand directions.
Ability to learn, understand and become knowledgeable with United States Postal Service,sans-serif>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodations.
Candidates must have a basic enough understanding of English to be able to understand and follow safety and other operational directions communicated in English, irrespective of their native language.
Based on operational need; must have a flexible schedule to work overtime, which may include weekends, holiday, and/or a different shift with limited or no advance notice. Satisfactory completion of our pre-employment process which will include DOT driving tests, drug screens and background verifications.
