Community & State Medical Management is focused on creating a Community Services Organization as a new functional area that would collaborate with our managed care and clinical operating units.


 


 


 


We are focused on providing new programs and policies that address early child care, housing, transportation, food security, unemployment, and economic development are important to both education and health.


 


 


 


Medical care is important, but actions outside of health car - education, jobs, and economic growth - may be the best way to stem spiraling health care costs.


 


 


 


Our goal is to find a better way of organizing and distributing existing social and community resources that result in improved health, vitality and well-being of citizens.  We want to partner with state and local governments, employers and community services providers to lead the organization of desperate services; to establish accountability with key stakeholders and to provide new models of connectivity and distribution of needed services and to improve the health and wellbeing of the populations we serve.


 


 


 


The Associate Director of Community Services will help develop new business models around social services that include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for operational and business planning. These models will be used for short and long term operational/strategic business activities and potential new pilots and demonstrations.



 


 


 


Primary Responsibilities:




  • Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff

  • Owns the end to end process

  • Develops functional, market level, and/or site strategy, plans, production and/or organizational priorities

  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems outside own team

  • Assist with developing business thesis-

  • Gather research and proof points to support the business case

  • Prepare Executive Summary of the opportunity

  • Identify the complementary benefits for UHG future growth and/or sustainability

  • Summarize the problem we're trying to solve or opportunity we are trying to leverage

  • Research and evaluate the competition

  • Research and evaluate the market dynamics, possible partnerships, and make recommendation as to build or buy

  • Assist in scanning existing UHG portfolio and identify functional areas or existing initiatives that might be leverage for solutioning or business modeling (state program, new RFPs, business development, clinical solutions, behavioral health programs, administrative functions, banking, benefits designs, etc.)

  • Assist in developing the financial model and Cost Benefit Analysis

  • Assist in identifying other funding sources i.e. grants ,investments (ROI), partnerships, savings, foundations, innovation funds, demonstrations, etc.

  • Attend conferences and gather supporting market information

  • Identify and outreach to businesses, vendors, NFP, providers, etc. that are well-aligned with our business strategy

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Manage supporting resources: data analytics, financial analytics, shared services partners/consultants

  • Assist with preparing and maintaining project plans.

  • Escalate market changes or other material threats to the business strategy

  • Proven independent worker with strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Assist and help lead ALL Market-based and New Service Development

Requirements

Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in social work or public health

  • 6+ years of experience identifying other funding sources i.e. grants, investments (ROI), partnerships, savings, foundations, innovation funds, demonstrations, etc.

  • 5+ years leading a team of analysts and/or project managers in community health programs

  • 4+ years of experience gathering research, developing cost benefit analyses, identifying funding sources, evaluating the market dynamics, possible partnerships, and making recommendation as to build or buy

  • Willing and able to travel up to 25-50% of the time

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


 




Preferred Qualifications:




  • 5+ years of experience in government services, social services program administration or collaboration

  • Master's degree
