POSITION SUMMARY

Hickory Farms is looking for an Area Manager to oversee a group of retail locations for the winter holiday season. This position will begin at the end of September 2014 and will go through the first week of January 2015. The Area Manager is responsible for the overall operation and performance of a group of our holiday stores, which includes, but is not limited to: meeting sales goals, merchandising, operations, staffing, supervision, training and development, inventory management, loss prevention, and ensuring adherence to company set guidelines and policies. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Effectively drives sales goals and customer service with continued focus on improvement
  • Assists Regional Manager in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of Store Managers and Sales Associates.
  • Fosters a positive environment through coaching, motivating, and mentoring while recognizing outstanding behaviors and performances.
  • Evaluates performance of the team and develops a business plan to address and manage issues effectively.
  • Actively engages with the team and customers by sampling, selling, and merchandising throughout the day.
  • Coordinates and assists with set up and tear down of kiosks at beginning and end of season.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a passion for people and loyalty to the Hickory Farms brand
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive and motivate performance.
  • Highly organized with the ability to adapt quickly to strategic change through critical thinking, problem solving skills, conflict management and stress tolerance.
  • Long hours ranging from 45-60 hours per week are required and Area Managers must be always accessible and on call for business needs.
  • Extensive local travel is required, as well as potential overnight travel. Must be able to visit holiday stores on short notice, and at off-hours, including weekends.
