Job Description:
This Quality Assurance Tester Co-Op will fulfill quality / testing needs for the Transportation Technology Group Maintenance & Engineering Systems software development. The selected candidate is required to ensure adequate levels of software quality are obtained. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate with software development & QA technical skills to assist in efforts to move departmental QA goals of leveraging technology forward.
The Quality Assurance Tester Co-Op executes Information Services (I.S.) Quality Assurance (QA) processes with moderate guidance. He/She identifies problems, generates alternatives, and recommends solutions within defined processes. This position documents the progress of assigned tasks to ensure objectives are met. He/She collaborates effectively with QA team members, application developers, software vendors, consultants, user communities, and test environment technical support staff in the execution of testing procedures. This position supports testing efforts of small to medium complexity. The Quality Assurance Tester Co-Op is knowledgeable of the key processes and technology within the business functions he/she supports.
The Co-Op will:
- Execute tests and Analyze results
- Assist in designing testware
- Assist with isolating defects in processes and products
- Assist in maintaining standard test methods and procedures
- Assist with basic project management disciplines pertaining to planning, issue-risk management, developing estimates, providing test status, and conducting defect and quality reviews.
Must be able to work 15 - 20 hours per week while school is in session. Potentially work 40 hours per week during the summer months.

The desired Co-Op will be currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program pursuing a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline, or has graduated from a degreed college/university program within that last 24 months with a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline.
