UPS Supply Chain Solutions is currently seeking a Distribution Manager II to impact the organization by developing, implementing, and leading successful customer operations to ensure efficient and economical utilization for storing and distributing inventory. This individual directs and controls activities in multiple facilities, with complex accounts, and large numbers of employees. This position has greater revenue responsibility and is typically responsible for meeting a revenue plan. In this capacity, the Distribution Manager II will monitor volume for respective clients and ensure client contract compliance.

Major responsibilities:

  • Develop operational goals and plans, monitor and communicate operations performance against plan (returns, shipments, receipts, and inventory levels).
  • Act as a liaison with customers
  • Monitor margins, set priorities, and coordinate with various functions to improve efficiency, and manage supervisors and hourly-paid staff.
  • Organizing and structuring a team or department.
  • Managing operations to meet customer deadlines.
  • Developing and executing account plans, cross selling, providing customer service, participating in reviews and revisions of SOWs, reporting financial performance, monitoring system performance, coordinating special projects as requested, and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for budgeting/financial administration, functional administration, and staff management (including career development, staffing, performance management, and organizational development) for all employees in the department 

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a strong ecommerce background
  • Bachelors degree (IS, Operations Management, Logistics Management, or Business Administration) or equivalent experience in a logistics/distribution environment required.
  • 5-7 years of operations experience in a high-volume warehouse or manufacturing operation required, including 3-5 years of operations management experience with P&L responsibility.  This experience must include work in multiple facilities with multiple customers.
  • Experience with implementations or systems customization required.
  • Experience must include implementation management and work in multiple facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Work experience must demonstrate ability to manage customer relationships, knowledge of IE and PE methods and roles, and the ability to motivate and manage a staff - especially under pressure.

Desired Experience:

  • Work in IE, QA, or Solutions is a plus.
