Full Stack Developer -Associate Manager Marketing Technology - Ad Agency Exp.

Purpose

The Marketing Technology Group’s purpose is to connect our brands to consumers/shoppers through the use of technology. The group strives to find new and innovative ways to communicate with our consumers/shoppers. The role is centralized to create best in class standards and efficiencies through portfolio wide management. The associate role executes the strategic vision of the group by assisting the Media and Content team in day to day management of our digital communication.

This associate will primarily work cross functionally across the internal marketing departments and external advertising agencies and hosting vendors to assure high quality development, security, and scalability of our websites. This includes review of and collaboration on PHP based marketing website code, with the key goals of preventing or eliminating website errors as well as maximizing both the performance of web applications and the efficiency of the development teams. Expert knowledge of PHP and the LAMP stack along with basic Linux system administration skills, and development experience at an advertising agency are key attributes of the role.

Accountabilities
• Maintain Quality Assurance of Digital assets
o Lead the QA process through final launch
o Assist in troubleshooting issues as they arise
o Ensure adherence to security and stability best practices

• Maintain hosting environment for brands
o Maintain relationship with technical partners
o Mandate technical specifications and options to development partners
o Assist in the delivery of assets from agency partner to live environment

• Assist in the development of Marketing Programs
o Provide upfront guidance to the Media and Content teams on program architecture
o Participate in ongoing program discussions with cross functional team
o Collaborate with agency and internal cross functional partners to deliver best in class programs

Assist in the collecting and implementing data to create targeting, ROI driving marketing programs.
o Understand the data DPS can measure and its impact on sales
o Define the opportunity (Landscape, use case scenario and benefits) for using data to make marketing more efficient

Qualifications

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Full stack LAMP developer with 2 years of work experience as a backend or full-stack developer within an advertising agency
• 5 years of professional experience building high-traffic web applications on the LAMP stack.
• Proficiency with a Linux command line environment and other tools related to the LAMP stack.
• Comfortable using revision control software (Subversion and Git).
• Expertise with database design best practices, including normalization, query optimization, referential integrity, and logical database architecture, including proficiency with MySQL
• Understanding of OOP with examples to prove it; Hands on experience with multiple MVC and application frameworks for PHP.
• Experience with Responsive Web development and mobile web optimization.
• Experience with integrating major 3rd party APIs (Facebook Open Graph, Twitter, Google Maps, YouTube, Open Social, etc…).
• Experience as a development lead or manager on projects.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organization and communication skills. - Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
• Client facing experience. -Comfortable presenting and able explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to quickly learn and understand technologies and applications of varying degrees of complexity.

Pluses/Desirables

• Experience in the DevOps role -Experience with a variety of hosting partners (Rackspace, Google App Engine, AWS) , configuration management systems (CFEngine, Puppet, Chef), and CDNs (Akamai, Limelight, CloudFlare).
• Experience with continuous integration systems/work-flows. -Experience with Vagrant
• Experience with performance monitoring (Dynatrace, New Relic).
• Experience with API design, web services and third party system integration (REST and SOAP)
