Operational - Financial Analyst - Irvine, CA - Full-time / Part-time

As an Operational - Financial Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to provide data analysis to support, compile and report key information for operations and business objectives. This is a position that affords you the ability to drive processes and improvement initiatives.  By gathering and documenting business requirements and utilizing your sharp analytical skills to fulfill the needs of the business and/or clients, you will have an impact on healing the health care system.  Some people would call you a data geek, but at UnitedHealth Group that passion turned into information is used for decisions made by leadership. Primary Responsibilities: 

• Is responsible for coordinating updates and generating forecasts for operational budgets


• Works tightly with financial organization for financial cycle requirements


• Assists leading and or contributing to cross departmental coordination needs related to management processes


• Maintains and forecasts performance guarantee reporting


• Creates and maintain vendor relationship dashboards


• Conduct and distribute internal reporting on client audit error trends/causes


• Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed


• Works with less structured, more complex issues


• Develop charting such as Pareto's, box-plots, control charts to illustrate findings and defect data


• Serves as a resource to others

Required Qualifications:

• 2 or more years' experience with financial forecasting


• 2 or more years' experience in operations 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Healthcare operations experience


• Claims processing background


• MS Office (word, Visio, PowerPoint, excel)


• Good communication skills


• Six Sigma


• SOX, GLBA experience
