Primary Responsibilities:


 




  • Perform all business analysis functions for development projects. Demonstrate value by developing the business requirements, specifications, and supporting the design and testing efforts, on strategic data delivery projects in Optum Data Management (ODM)


  • Determine needed business analysis resources, assist in cost/benefit analysis, establish overall project plans and ensure project success


  • Assist users in prioritization process and the development of strategies and performance goals


  • Develop detailed implementation planning


  • Conduct analysis of alternatives, offer solutions, and make recommendations


  • Assist in formulating and defining systems scope and objectives through research, data analysis, interviews, and fact finding


  • Assimilates, integrates, and interfaces technical knowledge with business/systems requirements


  • Query data and perform data analysis, data mapping, for conversion or migration activities


  • Verifies technical system specifications meet business requirements


  • Verifies test plans will accurately validate business requirements


  • Coordinate user acceptance testing activities across multiple business users and constituents


  • Involved in projects converting from non-strategic to strategic systems Projects involve more than one user area and more than one system. These projects have a significant impact on department, division, and business unit business and financial objectives


  • Effectively communicate with many levels of the organization, business stakeholders/SMEs, project managers, developers, system architects, quality assurance, operations, etc.


  • Work on multiple simultaneous initiatives; ability to multi - task


  • Handles tasks of high complexity or risk

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


 



  • Bachelor's degree in computer, healthcare, or business, or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of US Healthcare BA experience working in large, complex, matrix organization

  • 3 + years' experience in performing data analysis, querying databases and utilizing query tools (e.g., Teradata Client, Toad, SQL, Sagent)

  • 3+ years' experience in writing Functional Specifications and performing data mapping.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including 3 or more years' experience with focused customer communications, requirements gathering via formal sessions (e.g., JADs), presentation of requirements documents, PowerPoint presentations, and meeting facilitation

  • Subject matter expertise in the Healthcare Industry and related data

 


 


 


Preferred Qualifications:


 



  • Prior experience with Optum Data Management data warehouses, systems, and platforms

  • Knowledge of UHC and OptumHealth businesses. Community and State business and data knowledge highly valued for upcoming key initiative

  • Experience with UHG systems development standards/requirements (e.g., SDLC, UDP, RSA, ADR requirements)
