SUMMARY
Responsible for developing and producing news stories by investigating, interviewing, shooting, writing, editing, producing and reporting on a daily basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Reports, shoots, writes and edits news stories within assigned deadlines. Will work primarily alone to report and shoot stories.
- Stories should be compelling, factually correct, creative and written in a clear, concise conversational manner.
- Will work primarily alone to report, shoot and edit stories.
- Delivers reports, including live reports, demonstrating energy, confidence, professional appearance, and voice quality.
- Combines video, audio and graphics to effectively tell the story.
- May include working in a bureau area.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that works well with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
- General duties may include being on-call 24-hours a day; may be required to carry a paging device.
- This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and employee may also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by the supervisor and other management as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- College degree with minimum two years previous experience preferred. Excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills.

- Strong computer skills and willingness to work different shifts.
- Proficiency in non-linear editing preferred.
- Operate various office machines including computer and office software.
- Thorough knowledge of operation and office policies and procedures.
- Must have ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
- Must have valid driver ' s license with clean driving record.
- May be assigned to work out of the Albany newsroom.
- Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
