About this job

To be a Deputy Judicial Marshal, you must have successfully completed the ME Criminal Justice Academy Pre-service Training Course OR have a current/previous law enforcement certification. Please submit a resume highlighting your security and law enforcement qualifications including 4 professional references. As a Maine Judicial Marshal, you provide for the safety and security of judges, jurors, witnesses, and the general public. You remain composed in stressful situations: strategically stationed, alert and responsive to any security risk during court proceedings. A Judicial Marshal: * performs daily checks of the court facility * screens individuals as they enter the facility * assists in emergency disaster planning and evacuations * writes and files incident reports and arrest reports for each case handled during the shift * must be able to travel and work in different locations within the state with minimum notice * must handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly This is a full time, long term opportunity for which travel to other courts may be required (mileage is reimbursed).
