Senior Accounting Associate

UPS is currently seeking a Senior Accounting Associate to maintain the General Ledger for Customs Brokerage as well as exception processing for International freight transactions. The ideal candidate must be a subject matter expert in all areas of financial analysis and accounting procedures. This position is responsible for preparing, auditing and entering journal entries.  Reconciling balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.  Preparation and receipt of electronic charge memos (Centras).  Internal customer support, including research of account balances and variance analysis.  Also responsible for shipment level research to determine the correct settlement for UPS International freight transactions for revenue recognition and/or accounts receivable adjustments.  Ensure compliance with Enterprise Wide Accounting Policies and Procedures (EWAPPM).  Other work as directed. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a four year undergraduate business degree or working toward a four-year business degree.  Prefer Finance or Accounting undergraduate program.
• Must have excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
• Must have good working knowledge of accounting processes and principles
• Must have at least an intermediate knowledge level of Access, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
• Assessment of accounting knowledge and financial concepts will be given during interview.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Must be able to work under pressure of daily deadlines and monthly accounting closing process within a group environment.  Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
