Summary

The District Manager must establish and maintain excellent customer service with every existing and potential customer. Work involves but is not limited to: overseeing and supervising the operation of a group of assigned centers, ensuring maximized sales and profitability, inventory and expense control, meeting monthly and yearly Contribution to Plan (CTP) goals, and developing employees for future growth. This job reports directly to the Regional Vice President.

What are the responsibilities of the District Manager?

•Manages multiple stores’ operations of the district within budget
•Responsible for leading, engaging and developing the team
•Communicates company mission, vision and supports the values of the organization
•Sets the expectation, standard and example for customer service within the district
•Drives sales, improves margin/profitability and reduces expenses within the district
•Responsible for delivery and execution of new and ongoing programs
•Responsible for selection, guidance, training, performance management and accountability of all non-exempt level associates in the district.
•Represents the company in all issues and opportunities within the area of responsibility
•Partners with Regional level support team (Administration and HR)

What is the scope of the position?

•The District Manager reports to the Regional Vice President within the field operations group of the company. This position supervises the store managers and assistants. This position will be measured by the performance and financial results of the district, people development, employee engagement, customer service and metrics and the success of their team.

Requirements
What are the requirements of the position?

•Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a multi unit manager, 3-5 years of demonstrated leadership, or 5 years as a GM in a high volume big box retailer
•The candidate should demonstrate strong people skills including the ability to lead and engage a team, hold employees accountable to results and develop strong talent that can be moved throughout the organization.
•Must have the ability to drive the business, create a culture of customer service and operational excellence through the execution of goals.
•Requires excellent communication skills, organizational skills, strong understanding of financial aspects of retail business and multi unit P&L responsibility.

Physical Demands

•The District Manager is required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, reach with arms and hands, and to have appropriate vision to see up close, and at a distance with ability to adjust vision and focus. Must be able to talk and hear. The District Manager may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work a minimum of five days per week being on call at all times as needed. Ability to travel from center to center by car; some overnight travel may be required.
