JOB DESCRIPTION

We're currently seeking a Senior Supply Chain Sourcing Specialist for a contract opportunity in Richmond, VA. This is a great opportunity to work with one of the world's leading suppliers of a wide range of products, solutions and services in the field of energy technology.

Daily Responsibilities Include:
  • Deal with procurement of pipe, valves, and fittings to support pipeline construction and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct major spend analysis by supplier, commodity or service
  • Identifies potential suppliers
  • Develops and issues requests for proposal with complex pricing tables and electronic sourcing tools
  • Analyzes supplier proposals and performs legal as required
  • Negotiates prices, delivery, performance, financial incentives, issue resolution, escalation and terms/conditions
  • Identifies and obtains cost improvements for purchased materials through negotiation and continuous improvement management techniques
  • May participate in cross-functional sourcing initiatives, including the development and implementation of complex sourcing strategies
  • Help to develop and administers supplier relationship management tools on a contract and category basis
  • Performs trend analysis and identifies and implements process improvements
  • Analyzes all cost and process aspects of assigned spend. Perform other duties as requested or assigned


Qualifications:
  • 7 + years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of procurement practices, procedures and policies
  • Working knowledge of business and contract law
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles
  • Operational knowledge of supplier relations, priority management and tactical planning
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office 2007 including MS outlook, MS Excel and MS Word Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experiences (Preferred Requirements)
  • Experience procuring materials for large capital construction projects
  • Experience using SAP R3 System for materials.
  • Experience in the procurement of materials for Gas Transmission projects including construction pipeline and compressor stations related materials.
  • Some technical knowledge of pipe, valves, and fittings used in the gas industry is preferred.
  • Ability to learn about company engineering standards and how it can impact material procurement requirements.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated use of electronic request for proposal sourcing applications.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a 24+ month contract position. Pay rate is $30.00-$42.00 per hour dependent upon experience.
