PPG Industries is seeking a talented individual for a Product Compliance Specialist loc ated near Pittsburgh, PA in Allison Park, PA. The Product Compliance Specialist has accountability for the implementation and maintenance of compliance processes that support the development, sale, distribution, use and disposal of PPG products. Specific areas of responsibility include maintenance and enhancement in product hazard communication (e.g. Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and Label development, and Hazard Evaluation) and Customer Support through various product stewardship programs. The incumbent must have an understanding of PPG business unit technologies, as well as the ability to understand regulations that support product compliance.

The Product Compliance Specialist is a member of the Corporate Product Compliance & Raw Material Management group, the incumbent coordinates the authoring of new product Safety Data Sheets, performs updates to existing product Safety Data Sheets and oversees the creation and updating of warning labels for PPG products as well as serving as a corporate liaison for product compliance related issues.

Qualifications

Experience and Education
Degree in science or EHS discipline and minimum of 3 years of experience in the Product Stewardship or EHS field. Experience authoring Safety Data Sheets.

Functional and Technical Skills
Solid understanding of product compliance and EHS principles related to the operations of business. Problem solving skills involving standardized activities with diversified procedures and complex standards. Innovative thinking applied to situations requiring analytical, interpretive, evaluative, and/or constructive thinking. Accountability is subject to practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policies.
